Was about to go out for a run, and then I got this irresistible urge to get out my guitar and look up the chords/lyrics to "blowin in the wind" and play it. Freakin' A.D.D. But it was fun.

That reminds me of that old joke -

Patient to doctor, "After this procedure, will I be able to salsa dance?"
Doctor, "Certainly."
Patien, "That's amazing, because I don't know how to salsa dance now!!"
At least as old as the Marx Brothers. I also saw/heard the Monkees tell that joke. Not a good experience. Traditionally it is "Will he ever play the violin again?"

Yeah, I thought it was piano, but you're right...

Just like the dinosaurs before us, tonight we will be hounded by the meteor. The Leonids will peak at 3 am EST Saturday morning. Best viewing direction is up.

Seriously, how long did it take you to think up such a random statement ?
It's cosmic knowledge in-depth.

Well, it's been at least 25 hours and 20 minutes since his last post in this thread, so we've established a solid timeline.

I have no reason to suspect that he sleeps, so our window is still a little over one day.

Your move.

Can you imagine setting at a pub with him while drinking beer? That would have been a dream come true for me.
I have drinks in pubs all the time, and pretend I'm a neo-Feynmanian. It really impresses people how brilliant I am.

Until of course, I run into real physicists.

Ahem....

On a more serious note. i knew nothing of Feynman before I saw the documentary.

I do believe he influenced the rest of of my life, that fateful day:

Feynman: I felt like a monkey with two sticks
Om: I see monkeys, and stacks of bananas.

Glad the procedure went more or less well. Your anesthesia story mirrors what happened to my wife the other week when she had her wisdom teeth removed. We had to wheel her to the car. She tried to teach the assistant that was helping her how to do the salsa, while having a mouth full of bloody gauze. She doesn't remember that at all.

Anyway, I hope your kidney stones got the message.
Also, hope the kidney stones are gone Jimmy.

Doctors keep telling me that I won't remember anything. I wake up during operations and procedures where I am not supposed to wake up, and the doctor assures the nurses I won't remember. I DO REMEMBER YOU JERK. And you shouldn't make jokes about the patient, because I heard you, you moron. Guess why I changed doctors.

I warn doctors and anethesiologists that I am not easliy sedated. They realize this after I am still awake and they have to keep increasing sedation to put me under. And I tell them that I wake up before the procedure is over, which they realize when I wake up during the procedure. And the amnesiacs administered during the surgery, don't wipe out memory if I become alert during the operation. Like that surgical nurse that kept yelling at me to stop coughing because she was trying to get paperwork done after they removed my breathing tube and I was annoying her. Thought I wouldn't remember that? Of course since I couldn't talk or move, she assumed I was out of it.

I hope they all got a review on the "satisfaction interview" I got after leaving the hospital.

You people are wimps and don't know the abuse you're missing when you're loved ones aren't around and they think you are out!

So this is taken from another forum that I frequent.

Basically just post any random old thought that you might be feeling.

This way you don't have to start a whole new topic just to say "Damn it's cloudy out today".

If you guys don't approve of the thread, then by all means please do lock it and please accept my apologies.

Otherwise randomize away!
This is where you all come from. The beginning. Your own personal abiogenesis.

Lots of shooting a few minutes ago. It's deer-hunting season, but it's illegal to light them, and it's illegal to shoot them after dark. Night-hunting is not a good thing, if you get caught.

Why does Borge Madsen, the inventor of Ziploc technology, not have a wiki entry?

Very mysterious....

Am I really curious about how the world works or do I just like the math involved in the science?
