My dog likes going for rides, but he doesn't like to climb into a vehicle, so I really have to coax him to get him to put his front feet up on the seat, then I boost his back-end up onto the seat. Maybe something about enclosed places, and almost 5 months of imprisonment in an animal shelter...
I googled "dog getting into car" and this dog ramp came up on the second page.
You may have to put a red carpet on it if you think that he's too spoiled.

My kitty loves rides. She sticks her head out the window and mrowls at random crap. I'm always scared that she will fall out or something.

Your dog sounds somewhat spoiled.

Eventually, all possible thoughts will appear in this thread. This means that your consciousness could be generated by a PF poster posting here instead of by your own brain. Too many postings here would thus lead to a yet another Boltzmann brain problem.

Went to see "Fiddler on the Roof" this afternoon. Great show! Sad, though.

Sunrise, sunset
Sunrise, sunset
Swiftly fly the years
One season following another
Laden with happiness and tears.

Tsu and I chose that song for our wedding [Harp]. My grandmother was dying and barely lived to see the ceremony - everyone was sure it was the only thing that kept her hanging on. So it had special siginficance for us at the time.

From an email sent to a buddy - structured thought

This is quickly turning into a worst-case, nightmare scenario. Get this: 90% of the life in the Gulf of Mexico has its origins in the Louisiana wetlands – the areas now contaminated or in the greatest jeopardy. BP may have literally killed the entire Gulf.

We can only hope that containment efforts will be sufficient to save the most critical wetlands. The top kill and junk shots have failed to stop the leak. We now believe conservatively, that 15,000 barrels, or about 600,000 gallons of crude oil are leaking every day. This is about day 37, making this the biggest oil spill in US history. And with something like 23 million gallons of oil sitting in the gulf, and no hope of actually stopping the leak until August, hurricane season starts in a few days. The tidal surge from a hurricane, along with atomized oil in sea spray, could create an environmental disaster of a scale never even imagined before in this context. We can only hope that the gulf doesn’t take any direct hits from a major storm. Unfortunately, the water temps in the Caribbean and off the NW coast of Africa – the hurricane nursery – are warmer than normal. NOAA predicts that storm activity will he higher than normal. They have forecasts seven major hurricanes for that region.

This is truly shaping up as the ultimate nightmare scenario. And just to add icing to the cake: The Gulf Coast region constitutes the world’s 29th largest economy.

Now, I am truly afraid for the future of the Gulf.
If a hurricane hits to the East of the spill, it could actually make things better by pulling the oil back out to sea [as per the CCW circulation]. However, if a hurricane hits dead on, or to the West of the spill, the tidal surge will send the oil onto land and into the most critical wetlands.

Random thought:
Therefore, the future of the Gulf may now depend on which way the wind blows. Welcome to the twenty-first century.

Wonderful, just wonderful...

I've been imagining what a hurricane could do to the gulf in its present state for a while now... It wouldn't be pretty. My opinion is that it would make Katrina look like a little gale.

Tick, tick, tick... Is time against us? I removed an embedded deer tick from my wife's back last week, and an American dog tick and a brown dog tick from my dog this week.

BTW, brown dog ticks are VERY hard-shelled and hard to kill after removal.

I've never been a real fan of blood-engorged ticks... Mr(s) tick, where did that blood come from? You're sure? OK.

OMG how awful! We just got the fleas in our house under moderate control I think....

When I was visiting Jamaica there were some VERRRY hard shelled ticks on the dogs. They killed them with hammers! It was really a sight! I think the dogs got the ticks from being around the goats or cows or something.
