You on Ubuntu? If so, what do you think of the "new look"? It looked like it was gonna be awesome but as it turns out, it is not to my taste and I switched back to the "classic look" which used to be on the GNOME versions. I'm pretty happy about running Ubuntu though, that aside.
This time round, I didn't have to google + sudo my way (without having a clue as to what was going on) to install drivers and such. I did have a hard time as it first installed though but that's just because my specific line of GPU (nVidia 8 series) had a driver problem. It worked out on its own though... :D

Does anyone here have dogs? How time consuming can it be to take care of them? Get rid of, ahem, their "business", feed them, clean them and what not? I've wanted to have a dog on and off for a few years now, so...
We used to have German Shepherd (wasn't pure bred though - she had these long *** hairs). She was called Jessie. I remember crying a lot when I found out she died of food poisoning. And I mean actual poison. I was too young then for me to be able to remember the actual details though. I don't think my parents even told me the whole story then. Jessie was a cool dog. I also had a dream last night where he had dogs. :D

I lost my Mom over a year ago, take the time you need to grieve. My sincerest condolences to you and your family. The good memories of your grandfather will help to ease the pain.

My bolding. Eventually, you will realize that you have only one family, and that (warts and all) is part of who you are. My father is 85, and my wife and I try to have him visit for cookouts as often as we can. He won't be around forever, though if he keeps walking 2-3 miles every day, he'll be around for a while. My wife's mother is almost 10 years older and has senile dementia, and some of the siblings refuse to consider skilled nursing-home care for her. It's tearing my wife's family apart, and that it really sad. A couple of the hold-outs have reconsidered, but they still treat my wife and her "sane" sister poorly for believing that a person with dementia ought to have skilled nursing care, not a succession of untrained children as baby-sitters with no real continuity of treatment.

I'm getting a temporary transfer at work! Yay! It should be for about two weeks, starting Monday. Apparently, I'm enabling the bad employee to be a slacker because I'm picking up his slack, since his slack jeopardizes safety and I can't stand idly by in the face of danger. The idea is I go to a happier, easier place, while someone else comes in for me, and the bad slacker guy either picks up his slack or gets fired.

okay it sounds like planned danger but it's not really. This guy just expects me to do his job since I always have.

And in the mean time, I get to escape hell and go to a happy place! I'm so happy! My job sucks so bad right now since slacker guy is slacking!
