Was walking home and saw a table outside a house with a "free" sticker on it. 2 hour walk later and I got me a new table! Whoop!
There's a website for that where everything is free.

My wife and I have been getting rid of things we don't use, and this summer, we put stuff right out by the road with "Free" signs on them. People around here are so decent and honest that they would invariably come knock on the door and ask "Is that really free?" before loading it up. One guy in particular was impressed by a set of padded, fabric-covered reclining patio chairs. I told him that they were expensive when new, but that they were a PITA to adjust and get comfortable in. He didn't care - he had recently put in a concrete patio and couldn't afford to replace his molded plastic chairs right away. Free was good enough. He even hauled off the hand-made cardboard sign to dispose of it for me, since it had gotten soaked in showers.

Yep. Nice neighbors. I was ill recently and the next-door neighbor came over with his plow truck and cleaned out most of the driveway. My wife paid him back by baking him some crusty French bread and apple crisp so he could have sandwiches and dessert for the Patriots play-off game.

That makes me smile.

I filed off my thumb knuckle trimming a horse's hoof. I then cut the next knuckle on the same thumb with a box cutter. Should I just amputate the thumb? It must really be in the way.

Why an Easter bunny? Why not an Easter chicken -- which would seem to be more consistent with Easter eggs?

Also, I used to believe in the sanctity of rabbits. We had a rabbit, and a couple of dogs. Nice dogs, nice rabbit. No problems for years. They roamed the house and yard together, apparently getting on quite well.

And then one day we came home to find that the dogs had eaten the rabbit. Literally ripped it apart. A bit ugly for us perhaps, but apparently no problem for the dogs.

So, what about an Easter dog? A big, vicious, dog ... that likes chickens (not in a carnal, carnivorous sense).

Valentines Day is rapidly approaching. What about a Valentine gas? Methane? Just a random thought.

I've been teaching myself some Japanese for the last 2 months or so, but since I'm doing it alone, and don't know anyone else who speaks Japanese, it's kinda hard to practice the speaking/hearing part. All I have to practice with is a couple manga I bought. It doesn't help if all you know if a few hundred words, either.

I can pick out a few words here and there, though. Suge means awesome. Daijoubu means sure/safe, as in "Ok" or "You're fine (there's nothing wrong with you)". The kanji that loooks like a little peaked roof (with the tip missing) over a weird pi symbol, next to the 15 when it comes on screen, means minutes in this case (I think). And the kanji that looks like a banner with a line in the middle of the banner means yen (Japanese currency). These are just a few of the basic things I was able to pick out, though. Most of it was essentially gibberish to me.

All I can really help you out with is pointing out a few words I remember hearing/seeing in it.

Be careful when learning Japanese from manga/anime. They usually use the highly informal and sometimes even rude forms of speech. Try speaking like that to any Japanese person and you'll probably get a negative response.

Polite and regular formal are quite useful to know should you wish to visit Japan or have a general conversation.

***Edit: Just watched the ad quickly. The chair is called the "Electrical fitness machine: Rodeo Boy II". It has new technology that lets it move up and down more than other devices? Has 4 speed settings (I think) (Slowest being 45 moves a minute and fastest being 105 moves a minute). They say that by keeping balance you are working your stomach and thighs or something so you can even do it while watching TV. It has a 15 minute auto timer***

It's a horse riding fitness machine, Rodeoboy II. The fastest, most powerful exercise machine.

I wonder what happened to Rodeoboy I?

I'm not 100% sure of this part. Compared to the previous version, in addition to front to back and side to side motion, up and down and oscillating motion have been added (changed?)
That's right, it has become real 3-dimensional movement.
Whoa, this is really exercising. It's like riding a horse.
This is the weakest setting. In the slow "weak" setting, you can open your arms, balance yourself and exercise.

Thanks for the translation. Somehow I suspect the mechanical bull is faster and more powerful and a lot more exercise as you have to pick yourself up off the floor frequently - if you still can. I haven't ridden one but friends have. They say to ride it barefoot or you'll never stay on.
