Today I had lunch with Dr. Michio Kaku. He was giving a presentation (more of a book sales event) at the small college I work at, and some students from my University nearby were invited to a lunch set up by their humanities department. I had a rather bleak opinion of him, I guess since I never really "bit" the whole "in the future..." type of science-speculation, but I have to recant. He is an amazing story-teller, and absolutely brilliant. He answered in-detail any question that anyone threw at him on so many topics in physics it was crazy. I actually learned a great deal today, fun.
Did you know PF used to have a Kaku subforum? He was the nominal over-seer. I don't know the whole story, but apparently he attracted too many fringe types, and the forum was dropped.

Incredible, Sagan wins again in the Tour of California (in Clovis today). There were four stages so far and he won them all.

That's an honorable way to earn them.

Yep. A long time ago.

We have a new wave of T-storms coming in through. Nothing real close at the moment, but I might feel the need to shut down. Some big hits just to the north... When they light up my living room I tend to pay attention. I'm quite surprised that Duke is not out here with me because when we have heavy rain on the roof/thunder, he wants to be near me.

I will Ms Evo. I'm surprised that Duke is not here hugging my legs because he usually wants to be right here with me when the weather is severe.

We get them frequently in SE Florida at this time of year. It's the beginning of the rainy season and it's currently disrupting my evening tennis schedule. But the rain is a good thing. How are you feeling?

Feeling OK, though still a bit "off". I need a few dry days, if possible. The Kubota would be brutal on my lawns in these conditions, but I need to get to the manure pile and to till the garden. Maybe I should be willing to resign myself to lawns that are rutted mud-holes... I was never one to adhere to the "manicured-lawn" ideal anyway.

Physics Rocks! would be an appropriate title.

That awkward moment when I realize that the figurine I want to buy, which only costs 7000 yen, actually costs almost 90 dollars. Yeeaaahhh never mind about that.

My little Jackie is about to record her second performance for PBS. It has only been a little over a year since her first recording for Great Performances.

I do believe that's a first. I don't think I've ever seen a performer do two shows for PBS in such a short period of time.

I need to watch my mouth when I am around union-lovers, these people are bit over-emotional when someone talks about efficiencies and work
