I need to watch my mouth when I am around union-lovers, these people are bit over-emotional when someone talks about efficiencies and work

It is hard to watch your mouth. It's like trying to lick your elbow.

My neighbor's sidewalk has been in poor shape for a long time now. The tree roots have been pushing it up here and there with as much as 8 inches of height difference between adjacent blocks. So he hired someone to come and fix it. I saw the contractor breaking up the old concrete and asked him if he would do a couple of my sidewalk blocks too. We agreed on a price and he came over and removed the concrete. That was two weeks ago. There have been a lot of rainy days when they couldn't work, but that's not the big issue. The problem is that when they ground down the tree roots on his sidewalk, one of the trees fell down. You can see from the stump that the tree was rotten and would have fallen soon anyway. Even so, he is reluctant to grind the roots of another tree. He asked the township for permission to cut it down, but it was denied. They told him to route the sidewalk around the tree. The problem with that is he has a fence and would have to move the fence in order to reroute the sidewalk. While he is figuring out what to do, my sidewalk remains torn up with caution tape around the hole.

Your sidewalk's a completely different situation, though, isn't it? Or is your tree dead also?

There's a small root that needs to be ground. But it's far from the tree trunk and I don't think it will cause a problem. People have roots ground all the time. The problem with my neighbor's tree was that it was already about to fall anyway.

So, the township denied him permission to cut down the dead tree that is about to fall anyway?

About two hours ago I participated in a bike race.

There were two problems with my participation - I am a little bit too old (it was for boys up to 16) and I was riding in the opposite direction. Other than that, it was a fantastic experience. I was warmly greeted by organizers driving the car at the peloton head, they loudly cheered my efforts crying "Go, go, faster, faster, get lost!", they were so excited they even used expletives I am not going to quote. Now I understand the adrenaline rush thing sportsmen talk about so often.

Today it was completely accidental, but I am going to check the schedule to see if there are no other races I can participate in.

Is harassing animals new form of pop science?

This is the first time I watched Brady Barr's Dangerous Encounters. He seems more interested in going to lengths of stupidity to entertain his viewers than using more feasible alternatives to collect a hippo sample.

Looks to me like he was inspired by Ace Ventura:

Apparently it's now a topic for student papers in engineering. See the "cow tipping" link here: http://emweb.unl.edu/Mechanics-Pages/welcome.htm

Don't do it. You'll only encourage them to make a sequel. Or worse, come up with an idea for presedential avengers. If they release Clinton as the Flash, it will be your fault.

It's clear all the Presidents were vampire hunters and the public has a right to the truth. Each President, like Lincoln, had a signature weapon.

Grover Cleveland used to sit on them and squash them:

That would make him Sat-squash? I thought he was just a myth.

Myths exist for a reason: they're 100% true.

And it's not just U.S. Presidents:
