Co2 laser Project help
I am trying to study the effects of exploding plasma.
My idea is to discharge my 7680J cap bank through a Co2 laser hooked to a Q-switch to produce a 5-100 microsecond pulse involving all the cap banks energy. My question is will it work and can the optics handle the amount of energy. The military has developed a system that can do this on a large scale reference below http://www.dtic.mil/ndia/smallarms/Moore.pdf http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pulsed_Energy_Projectile I can increase the size of my capacitor bank up to a reasonable amount if necessary The idea that laser energy can kinetically effect objects has great potential in the sense that it could be used to cheaply propel objects into space. |
