producing strontium titanate using sol-gel method

Hi all, i am trying to produce strontium titanate using sol-gel method with strontium acetate dissolved in acetic acid, then added into titanium (IV) isopropoxide with a little ethylene-glycol (EGE). however the solution obtained would not form into gel form.does anyone have any idea or suggestions why i failed??
