Non centered Parallax Question
Ok
in Part two of this lab found here http://www.astro.lsa.umich.edu/under.../px_intro.html It discusses calculating the parallax angle when the object is not between the baseline (figure 2) I agree with the relation for the parallax angle, And I agree with the general result from part 1 which allows one to determine the distance R to the object. I don't agree that you can use the parallax angle from part 2 into the relation from part 1 to find what the author calls R. Note This is not a hw assigment, or my lab. (How does one justify using the formula from part 1 with the parallax from part 2)? |
