People need to realize that there is more to life than world of warcraft.

I used to play some MMORPG games on my computer, but I didn't dedicate my entire life to it.

I had a Diablo 2 account that had quite a lot of items that I collected over a few years. If I sold each item on Ebay I probably could have milked around 100-200 bucks for the account; however, when i didn't play it for a couple months my account was deleted. No big deal...I had fun while playing the game and it's not like losing the account was losing money I "worked" for...I think if a game turns into something like a job for you...then you should stop playing. A game is just for entertainment IMO.
