I am taking about MAME - Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator and MESS, which is based on MAME as its core (MESS stands for "Multi Emulator Super System").

Both are software emulators for video games.

MESS supports many platforms and I am wondering does MAME supports the same platforms, since it is the core of MESS? More precisely for example, if I can run game created for Nintendo Entertainment System on MESS, does that mean that I can run the same game using MAME?
