HOT and SMART!

! As we know, scientists posess some of the greatest minds around. Within these, there is a uber-privileged sub-population who's mental abilities are only surpassed by their astounding physical charms! This thread is a celebration of HOT and SMART scientists!

I have to say: I absolutely adored my philosophy professor. She was a Kantian from Hamburg; had that sexy German accent and everything. But most strikingly: she had this massive, ornate sort of beehive hairdo. Looked like it took hours to do every morning.

This photograph does her no justice (nor does it show how large her hair once was), but just to give you an idea...

...she really was an elegant, intelligent woman. She even used to laugh sometimes with the most endearing German snort. Every stereotype about Germans (those that are actually kind) she was. Very precise, hard-working, serious, and extremely intellectual.

Then of course, she would usually catch you off guard, with a little bit of her humor. I remember, as an undergrad, she invited each of us, one-at-a-time, for a private interview with her (again, that struck me as being very German somehow); and she actually picked on me having waited until my fourth year to fulfill the requisite. What a ham.

"Vhy have you been stalling all dis while? Vhut have you been doink vit your life?"

Apparently, she also liked Star Trek, and on occasion she would, during her lecture, also refer to various species therein (used them for an analogy). Let me tell you: there is very little quite as charming as your German Philosophy professor drawing sci-fi aliens on the blackboard, and calling them by name in that accent.

"Der are Klingons, and Vullllllcans, and Androids."

What a gem. I miss her.

I think most women would be intrigued by Filippenko because not only do we know how smart and imaginative he is from his lectures and work but we all want to know about that mysterious beach bum side of him. He is one of those rather cool and good looking scientists out there.

Scientists are just trained to express their intelligence more and more openly than people with other professions. Science is to intellect what pole-dancing is to sexuality. If that gets used for the SAT, I want royalties.
