I wonder how many chess players are here among all the scientists and engineers...

How often do you play chess and how good are you?
My rating is about 1750 and I play about 3-5 tournaments a year.

Are there any FMs/IMs/GMs on these forums? I would actually expect here a lot of good chess players as it seems a lot of clever people are here...

I'm master+ strength, I don't really play anymore though...memorization=boring waste of time

Once upon a time, about 20 years ago, I played fairly regularly, and had a rating of 1950 when I quit playing.

So, you can probably deduct, say, 400-500 points from that rating to find my present level.
