comparison between tensile, compression, bending and torsion test
is there a ranking of these methods in terms of accuracy to determine metals' mechanical properties?
Something in my mind: Compression test is always impacted by the friction effect It seems to me that bending test might have more uncertainties. In torsion test, the metal would display greater amount of plastic deformation -- is this something that impact the accuracy of the testing? However, I do not find a reference book saying that there is a ranking among these test methods. Could anyone give me some advice? Thanks a lot! |
