Corrosion products
I performed ferric chloride test for 304 and 316 steel samples. Both were immersed in 10% FeCl3 for 72h at room temperature.
In 304 SS I got green corrosion product covering the pits and most of the surface of 316 SS was covered with a thin, white layer. What is the possible composition of these corrosion products? |
