Spin networks and quantum computing (curious link-up)

Click For Summary
SUMMARY

This discussion centers on the relationship between spin networks and quantum computing, specifically within the framework of Loop Quantum Gravity (LQG). Participants highlight that spin networks represent quantum states of gravity and reference a paper that explores their potential as quantum computers. Notable elements include diagrams and references to Catalan numbers, suggesting a mathematical underpinning to the concepts discussed. The conversation reflects curiosity about the applicability of spin networks in computational contexts.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of Loop Quantum Gravity (LQG)
  • Familiarity with quantum states and their representations
  • Basic knowledge of quantum computing principles
  • Mathematical concepts related to Catalan numbers
NEXT STEPS
  • Research the implications of spin networks in quantum computing
  • Examine the paper referenced at arXiv: quant-ph/0410105
  • Explore the mathematical properties and applications of Catalan numbers
  • Investigate current advancements in Loop Quantum Gravity and its computational applications

this seems strange
spin networks are the quantum states of gravity in one approach to it (LQG)
this paper treats them as quantum computers
I cannot tell if ...I can't tell anything about this. some remarkable diagrams way at the end, and nice numbers like the Catalan numbers

It would be good if something could be salvaged from spin-networks. :-p
