Astrocyte models?

Ok, I would appreciate any help on this question that has been bugging me for quite some time. I've really become desperate.

I'm searching for a comprehensive astrocyte model i.e. something equivalent to the Hodgkin-Huxley model, but for astrocytes. I realize that such a model would have to incorporate the dynamics of calcium, glutamate, etc. and would probably be much more complicated and detailed than a HH model. The thing is, while I've seen bits and pieces of astrocytes modeled in various papers, I've never seen a full model.

I'm starting to have doubts about whether such a model can even be created. I'm starting to think there are serious gaps in our knowledge that will take many more years of study to fill.

I've already posed basically the same question to 3 or 4 of the top researchers in the field (by email) and haven't yet received a reply. Either my question is stupid or they're too busy (probably the latter).

Please, please, reply and give me your thoughts. I'm interesting in hearing anything and everything.
