TDSS rootkit infection

I've run GMER and come across the tdlr4 infection. Does anyone have experience removing these rootkit infections? This is one nasty bug and it has gotten all over the computer network where I work. We have no IT department/person at the moment so we've been screwed. Is this a hopeless fight and we'll just have to reinstall the operating system?
