Intro to Materials Science/Metallurgy for Physicist?

Materials science and metallurgy is so far down the list of things I have to know that I am not looking for a giant technical tome, but an undergraduate-level textbook on either subject would be very appreciated. I machine quite a bit and have an interest in both subjects and it would be nice to know various properties of metals, alloys, and the treatments applied to to them.
