shigella dysentery treatment question

A virology text [Fields Virology, 3rd Ed., p.4.] describes the appearance of phage plaques on cultures of Shigella dysentery bacillus at four days, and notes that the patient's symptoms also began to clear up at the same time. Another text [Understanding Viruses, Shors, 2009, p. 7] notes that phage have been used to treat bacterial infection. Does anyone know if Shigellosis was ever treated with phage?
