Define the contravariant derivative X[itex]^{ab}[/itex] of X[itex]^{a}[/itex] with repect to x[itex]^{b}[/itex] 2. Relevant equations 3. The attempt at a solution X[itex]^{ab}[/itex]= [itex]\partial X^{a}[/itex]/[itex]\partial x^{b}[/itex] + [itex]\Gamma^{ab}[/itex][itex]_{p}[/itex] X[itex]^{p}[/itex] Does that make sense/ is it right?
