Hi all,

It is the first time to post in your forum.

While applying for post grad studies, some colleges require a motivation letter while others require a statement of purpose.

so, are the letter and the statement the same?

Thanks,

More or less this:

A Letter of Motivation is focusing on what brought you to the program, your history and desires. It addresses why you arrived at where you are.

A Statement of Purpose is focusing on your goals for the program, your future and desires. It addresses what you want to do after you get in.
