Calculating position from acceleration data using fourier transform
Hi all,
Hi have an evenly spaced set of data points corresponding to acceleration , where dt = 10 ms. From there I would like to calculate total displacement. First I get A(f) in herz, using Labview's fft algorithm. I then divide by -w2, where f= 1/dt. From that I take the inverse FFT. It's my understanding that should net me position in time, however the results I get make no sense to me (magnitude of position is several orders of magnitude smaller than acceleration). Any thoughts? I'm also curious about the units. If a(t) is in m/s2, after fft what units do I get on the y axis? Thanks |
