Is human tissue shrinkage predictable?

First, I don't know whether his question belongs in a mechanical subforum or a medical subforum, as the questions contain both elements:

If a human tissue shrinks, for example after liposuction, it is considered due to the amount of elastin and collagen content within the tissue. If you measure the elastin content (for example by measuring the amount of desmosine), is there a way to predict how far and fast the tissue would shrink?
