LaTeX -- how to annotate (boxes/arrows) text?

I'm preparing a tutorial on how to write lab reports.

What I would like to do for part of this is have arrows which point to parts of an example report, and lead back to explanatory notes on the margins.

Does anyone know of a good package/method for doing this?
