solar radiation - conversion to calculate radiation impacting vertical surface

I have collected solar radiation (W per m2) reaching a horizontal surface (at sub-hourly intervals) using the appropriate sensors. However, I need to convert this to the amount of radiation that would reach a vertical surface (such as a building wall) of different aspects (N NE E SE S SW W NW).

Does anyone know a simple formula that could be used?
