SUMMARY

The heat transfer coefficient of oil, specifically polyolester, is a topic of inquiry in thermal engineering. While specific values for polyolester were not provided in the discussion, several resources were shared that may contain relevant data. Users are encouraged to explore links to EPA reports and engineering resources for detailed information on heat transfer coefficients of various oils. The discussion highlights the importance of consulting specialized literature for precise thermal properties.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of heat transfer principles
  • Familiarity with thermal conductivity measurements
  • Knowledge of fluid dynamics
  • Basic research skills for accessing scientific literature
NEXT STEPS
  • Research the heat transfer coefficient of polyolester oils
  • Explore the EPA report on thermal properties of fluids
  • Investigate heat exchanger design principles
  • Learn about thermal conductivity testing methods
USEFUL FOR

Engineers, thermal analysts, and researchers in the field of heat transfer and fluid dynamics will benefit from this discussion, particularly those focusing on the thermal properties of oils.

Hi,

Does anyone know the heat transfer coefficient (&lambda in W K^-1 m^-1) of oil. I'm looking for this for polyolester, but if you have data of another oil, tha't would be fine!

Thanks,

Smurfje
