Diagonal of a Matrix
Dumb question, but just say you have a Matrix in the form
0 0 0 0 4 0 0 0 5 Is it still considered a diagonal matrix if the (1,1) entry is a 0? |

Yes, that's still a diagonal matrix. The zero matrix is also a diagonal matrix, the definition doesn't care what's on the main diagonal, only that everything else is zero.
