Does anybody know the name given to the frequency at which an object vibrates with maxium amplitude??

No I am thinking of when a particle is set into vibration, what the frequency is called when it has a maximum amplitude

frequency question
Flo123, I think Doc Al is correct.
When a particle is set into vibration, it will oscillate at its own natural (resonant) frequency which is determined by its physical characteristics. As the frequency of the driving force (or applied frequency) approaches the resonant frequency of the resonator, the amplitude of the resonator approaches a maximum. |
