Which one is more technologically difficult to build, the latest stealth B-2 bomber or the latest version of Virgina class submarine?
The discussion centers on comparing the technological complexity of stealth bombers, specifically the B-2 bomber, and submarines, particularly the Virginia class submarine. Participants explore various aspects of engineering, design, and operational challenges related to both technologies.
Participants express differing views on which technology is more advanced, with no consensus reached. Some favor submarines for their engineering challenges, while others advocate for the complexity of the B-2 bomber's stealth capabilities.
Participants mention various technical aspects, such as the structural integrity required for submarines and the stealth mechanisms of both platforms, but do not resolve the comparative complexity of the technologies.

The shape of the hull/sail, minimizing cavitation on the screw, and keeping machinery noise to a tolerable level (off platform radiated acoustics) determines a subs stealth capability.
