I mean it be keybord, but now plug in game pad, how the buttons function like keybord ? what is inside to make it work ?

huh? you just plug the game pad into the computer and the game will see that you have it plugged in and then you can use that in the game given that you tell the game that you want to use it.

if you are using first person shooter, you should use the mouse and KB because that gives you maximum flexibility in movement.
