Im having trouble with the following problems.
1.The service time for customers in a retail outlet is exponential with an expected length of five minutes, and service times are assumed to be independent of each other. Find the probability that (i) a service takes longer than 10 minutes; (ii) a server completes more than 12 consecutive services in 30 minutes; (iii) out of 5 services, no more than 1 takes longer than 10 minutes. 2. On a particular stretch of motorway, there is a probability of 0.1 of there being at least one accident on a ny day, independently of other days. (i) What is the probability that the third accident day in September occurs on the 11th of September? (ii) How many days' records must be inspected to have the probability of at least 1 accident to be at least 0.99? Thanks for your time. |
