Miles seems like a perfectly normal American name. Yet I have not in my life met someone that is named "Miles."

Physics news on Phys.org
I know a miles

i know a miles too, but he's not perfectly normal...

the miles i know is probably gay and girly

My neighbor kid is named Miles, and he's a good kid too.

Maybe after Miles Davis came along, people felt that the Miles mold was broken; the same kinda way people feel about using the name Jesus.

Though I guess there are still Jazz atheists there who have no qualms about naming their kids after someone they can't possibly live up to.:-p

yeah! Miles Davis is a cool cool cat!

The latin meaning for the word miles is military personnel, aka soldier. It's been a while since I took latin, so I'm not too sure about that.

Is Milo a variation on Miles - or is that a completely different name?

I voted yes just for the hell of it

Anytime I hear a Miles on TV it always seems to be a kid with cancer that needs money from me. Anyone else have this problem too?

There seems to be a connection...

With no respect for political correctness:

if you are
- Black
- A child with cancer
- Gay
- Metrosexual
you can be named Miles.
