SUMMARY

Withdrawal from Zyprexa, an anti-psychotic medication, after missing 3 to 4 weeks of the prescribed 20mg daily dosage can lead to significant physical symptoms, including persistent chest pain lasting over a week. It is crucial to report any chest pain to a physician immediately, as it may indicate serious cardiovascular effects. The discussion emphasizes the importance of understanding the biological implications of medication withdrawal rather than solely focusing on mental health aspects.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of anti-psychotic medications, specifically Zyprexa.
  • Basic knowledge of medication withdrawal symptoms.
  • Awareness of cardiovascular health and its relation to medication.
  • Familiarity with the importance of consulting healthcare professionals regarding medication side effects.
NEXT STEPS
  • Research the withdrawal symptoms associated with Zyprexa and other anti-psychotics.
  • Learn about the cardiovascular effects of long-term anti-psychotic medication use.
  • Explore guidelines for safely discontinuing anti-psychotic medications.
  • Investigate the role of healthcare providers in managing medication withdrawal.
USEFUL FOR

This discussion is beneficial for patients on anti-psychotic medications, healthcare providers, and anyone interested in understanding the physical effects of medication withdrawal.

Zyprexa is an anti-psychotic, if, say, u missed about 3 or 4 weeks of ur meds (which ur sposed to take 20mg daily, and had been taking for almost a year straight) would u get chest pains that've so far lasted a week?

Any chest pain should be immediately reported to a physician! That's one of those things that you don't wait around to see if it goes away on it's own.

Even though the med you're referring to is an anti-psychotic, the real jist of your question is more related to biology and possibly cardiovascular effects than mind & brain, so I'm moving this over there.

thank you for your guidance. thank u
