What is Tesseract: Definition and 15 Discussions

Tesseract (often stylized as TesseracT) are an English progressive metal band from Milton Keynes. The band, formed in 2003, consists of Daniel Tompkins (lead vocals), Alec "Acle" Kahney (lead guitar and producer), James Monteith (rhythm guitar), Amos Williams (bass, backing vocals), and Jay Postones (drums, percussion). The band is currently signed to Kscope. They are credited as one of the bands to pioneer the djent movement in progressive metal. As of 2018, Tesseract have released four studio albums: One, Altered State, Polaris, and Sonder, as well as a live album, Odyssey/Scala, and the extended plays Concealing Fate, Perspective and Errai.
In 2020 Tesseract performed Portals, described as a "live cinematic experience" as a ticketed online stream. Drummer Jay Postones was replaced by Mike Maylan (Monuments) for the event, since Postones chose to stay in Texas due to the necessary 2 week isolation from the coronavirus pandemic.

B Tesseract Dimensions: Inner Cube vs Outer Cube

When drawing a tesseract in 3D how large should the inner cube be compared to the outer one?

A Where is the actual space inside a tesseract?

Hey, i can't see actual space in tesseract. Like in 3 dimensional cube, you have squares as faces and between them there is a space. But in tesseract where you have 8 cubes as faces, this leaves 0 space for actual space inside, i can see only 8 faces and nothing between them. I first thought it...

Question about higher dimensions and what connects them

It's my understanding that, if we ignore the temporal dimension and just focus on spatial ones, then you get to the third dimension by starting with a point and adding perpendicular lines to them. Once you've done this a couple of times, you get three dimensions. Obviously, to the layman, it...

Quantity of Vertices, Edges, Etc In Higher Dimensional Cubes

Has anyone came up with a way to find the number vertices, lines or face in different dimensional cubes? I'm would most interested in a non-recursive equation.

Higgs Bosson, manipulate gravity, 4 dimensional space.

Higgs bosson as we know is responsible to giving particles mass, mass is responsible for the gravity. So I think higgs bosson can be used to manipulated gravity. If we can made the device that can manipulate gravity using higgs bosson, can we make 4 dimensional space? can we make the real...

Tesseract, Aether, Orb from parallel Marvel Universe

There is a series of very interesting science fiction films lately related to physics and from Marvel Universe. To those dizzy already or want to relax from Many Worlds or unsolved problems in physics, etc. Try to watch the latest Avengers: Age of Ultron. I have to watch it the second time to...

Is a Tesseract the only model we have for 4D?

I posted this in yahoo questions, but perhaps this is a better place for it. The Tesseract assumes that in order to add another Euclidean dimension another orthogonal plane is added into the mix, right? That is the pattern when going from 1D to 2D to 3D, but it seems like something slightly...

Tesseract with Time as Fourth Dimension

Hi forum, I was having some difficulty in understanding how time as a fourth dimension allows a cube of three spatial dimensions to obtain the properties of a tesseract. Suppose we allow a cube to exist for some interval of time. At the start such a cube would have eight vertices as well as...

Real World Tesseract: Crafting a 4D Table from 3D Cubes

It is with mixed success that I finish my third attempt at what I hope is the world's first real-world (i.e. not computer-rendered) tesseract, or hypercube. It started last spring while I was bored in a job-hunting class. I was studying my Meyer-Briggs results, and the chart that divides all...

Tesseract or time which is the fourth dimension

I am hoping someone can help me to develop a working definition for the term "dimension". In the past I was taught that there is the first dimension which is a single point, the second dimension is defined as this single point being extended in such a way that a second dimensional object would...

What would be the fifth dimensional property of a Tesseract?

I understand the Tesseract, but What would be the fifth dimensional property? Does it have to do with tunneling properties of particles? And how would time act in the fourth dimension? I do understand a little about physics, but in consideration that I know very little, please IN LAMENS TERMS!
