Tension in a string over a pulley
Thanks for this thread. I had much the same problem, except the first mass was on a slope. a = F/m a = (m2g - m1g*sin(theta))/(m1+m2) solve for tension using the second mass T = Fg - ma T = m2g - m2(gm2 - gm1*sin(theta))/(m1+m2)
