Our Ancient Companion - The Movie (well, a clip at least )...
When I took the first shots with my Sky-Watcher Capricorn-70 I also filmed the Moon. Afterwards I played around with video editing, and I enjoyed it so I ended up doing a 2 m 34 s clip.
Here it is:
Our Ancient Companion - The...
Some shots of a skateboarder in action...
This skateboarder was performing tricks in a square and I asked him if I could take some photos, and he said yes. It seemed to me he was pretty good at skateboarding. And it was fun because I had never tried shooting skateboarding. I set the camera to...
I don't know how well-represented this can considered to be, but there are some pretty nice Roman mosaics, at least in my eyes:
"Pavement mosaic with the fight between Dionysos and the Indians. Roman artwork, first half of the 4th century CE." Source: Dionysiaca (Wikipedia).
"So-called...
Insane. 🙂
Every science lab I've ever attended was far easier than that.
Folks, we are witnessing the birth of a new science here, coffeeology.
I very much agree with that. This is how I see it, roughly speaking:
The story is the most important, then the script, then the acting, then the filming and then the effects (if any).
Evidence (if needed ):
If you have a good story and reasonably good acting but no particularly...
Two shots from Nordre Toldbod, a waterfront area in Copenhagen:
View eastwards from Nordre Toldbod. The bright point in the sky is actually the planet Jupiter.
Here is one of the royal pavilions (Danish: De kongelige pavilioner) in the area.
They were built in 1905 and they were first used...
I found a couple of ones, none particularly good , but here are two:
Leaving Sweden on a train on the Öresund Bridge:
Passing Peberholm, a Danish artifical* island:

You have my fullest sympathy. I feel the same.
I have some fear of spiders, snakes and a couple of other animals*, but sharks are in a different league - they terrify me.
And add the fact that they are master predators in an environment, water, which I'm just a dabbler in... it's pure terror...
I listened to this song again today and remembered how much I like it.
I think it's a darn good song, probably my favorite Foo Fighters song.
The lyrics, riffs and powerful chorus is just spot on, in my ears at least .
Foo Fighters - Times Like These (Official Music Video) (US Version)...
I just saw this trailer and got a bit excited .
It is an upcoming tv series based on a novel I had never heard about, and I have no idea about the plot.
But there is some Contact feeling in it, and it also seems there is a voiceover of Carl Sagan in the trailer.
According to the trailer...
I couldn't find any photos taken from trains, but I found a few I took from the passenger seat in a car, in beautiful Austria (using an early mobile phone):
What a lovely view! Too bad there are blurry trees in the way  :
Ouch, it hurts my eyes... blur, dirty window and horrible...
I think it is ok for being from a car.
It's not easy, there are additional problems when taking such photos: motion blur since the camera is moving, reflections from car windows and dirt on the windows.
Taking photos from inside trains is also difficult .
I think I have a few such...
When I played the clip just now with the sound on, one of my cats looked around for a new cat when she heard the "meows" and my other cat came running into this room from the bedroom, looking for a new cat .
I just saw another image of Comet C/2023 P1 Nishimura by the same photographer...
...my gosh, what a crisp image (though the preview below looks less crisp on PF; visit the source for more crispness). And you can even see galaxies in the image .
More Horizon Time, Comet C/2023 P1...
Correct!
Haha, there are still pheasants there, and I photographed a couple there last year.
I guess they're not the same ones, though.
The double slit experiment has been made with other objects than photons (i.e light), e.g. electrons and C60 molecules.
At the moment I don't remember if the electron version of the experiment is done in vacuum, but I wouldn't be surprised... I think it is... I'll look around for it.
But it is...
Very nice to see old photos of Malmö, it brings back memories . Your photo above reminded me of all the ferry crossings we used to do to Copenhagen. Now we usually go by car or train via the Öresund Bridge.
The Kockums Crane on your photo above was once a famous landmark of the city...
Oh, yes. So you've been there? Very fun to see an old photo of it!
Here's a shot of the mill from August this year:
And right next to that mill is a communal garden which is one of the best places in the city to shoot flowers. Some of my flower shots in this thread are from...
