Magnetic field put off by high current (causing cross-talk between wires)

Ok that makes sence, even if any voltage is generated in my coil harness or injector harness it will be very small and not offer enough current to actually do anything?

Magnetic field put off by high current (causing cross-talk between wires)

Ok so I haven't been on here for a while but I can't seem to find an answer to my question anywhere and really need some help! So I not only am an electronics hobbies but I have fun installing car audio systems as well. The problem I am running into is that I would like to run an alt wire...

MOSFET not working with digital input gate signal, Help please

So after taking a look at my program i realized it was simpler to do then I thought. So I was able to take my word variable holding the 1024 bits of the pwmduty and before It actually fires I wrote "let w11=1024-w11" and changed w11=0 to w11=1024 wherever the mosfet is supposed to shut off. The...

MOSFET not working with digital input gate signal, Help please

Ok! So i went ahead and changed the frequency in my program, picaxe doesn't really list a way to know what frequency you are actually getting out of the 0-255 variable so I took it from 255 down to 50, (I think it is something like 17hz,) and although it did not completely fix the problem as far...

MOSFET not working with digital input gate signal, Help please

I will admit I am relatively new to fets and although I have read the datasheet there may be somthing you guys see that I don't. In terms of the frequency, I will definitely try lowering the frequency next chance I get to make up for that gate capacitance and hopfully improve the overheating...

MOSFET not working with digital input gate signal, Help please

As for a schematic is there a program that you guys use? I agree it would benefit everyone especially me. I normally just draw mine but this is important to me and ill give you whatever is needed. My scope cant seem to latch onto the frequency but every time i turn it on i can hear almost...

MOSFET not working with digital input gate signal, Help please

Ok, so i have a picaxe microcontroller putting out a pwm signal to the gate of an irlb3034 "logic level" n-channel mosfet. The mosfet is for grounding on and off about 8v of 20 to 40 amps. When i take my circuit and jump 8v directly to the gate of my mosfet everything works perfectly...

    ASK transmitters in parallel

I am in the US and didn't realize there was a law so ill keep bellow 20mw. I really want a somthing plug and play, could I possibly take one f these modules and tap a mosfet amplifier circuit onto the antenna pin and take measurements in order to achieve a true 20mw thus using the module only...

    ASK transmitters in parallel

I have built a remote control car, pwm speed controll and all, using picaxe microcontrollers and gained a lot of experience doing it. I used a low power i think 20mw transmitter you can find all over ebay that uses a 433hz carrier wave. A long time ago i found a 1w transmitter meant to be a step...

    Equilizer with lm833

Ok great! Sorry I havnt responded for a while. This all had helped a lot and once i find time to experiment i may have more questions so ill make another thread, see you all later!

    Equilizer with lm833

You mean use the op amps to increase db and not just use them as buffers for the filters?
  14. Tesladude

    Equilizer with lm833

Ok great! I can calculate it then. And your saying to reduce noise i should put the potenciometer after the 2 filters?

    Equilizer with lm833

Ok awesome i know how to cut the voltage with a pot and resistor but here is my problem, what voltage translates to db? For example with speakers half or twice the voltage to the speaker is -/+6 db, Would this work the same on the low level equalized output we are creating?

    Equilizer with lm833

No sorry i wasnt clear :) Im talking about potenciometer used to adjust the db of this channel. I have a highpass in series with a low pass now how do i make the output variable between -12 and +12db
  17. Tesladude

    Equilizer with lm833

Ok now how do i set it up to make +- 12 db? It cant be just a potenciometer on the input because that would change volume from full to 0

    Equilizer with lm833

Ok my plan was to have a 12db cutoff. So im infering that it is not possible to use one op amp for a 12db/octave bandpass filter, right?

    Equilizer with lm833

I am looking to design an equalizer using the lm833 op-amp. I have used the lm833 to make an active crossover and pre-amp but what i really need it to use one of the op-amps in each lm833 as a bandpass filter to make the different frequencies So that i can have 2 adjustable frequencies for each...

    Sine wave into wattage

Ok that eleborates a bit better. My point of this thread is to test amplifiers wattage output at clipping. So i need to take my scope, put it across my speaker, play a 60hz pure sine wave (60 incase clamp meter is best at wall socket frequency), read my clipping voltage, multiply by .707, and...

    Sine wave into wattage

I do have a digital scope, so should i put the scope on the speaker, find the amplitude value of my sine wave, multiply that by 0.7, then multiply that by the current i read on my digital clamp meter?

    Sine wave into wattage

All i need to know is if i read (for example) 12vac across my speaker and lets say 3 amps of ac with a clamp meter. What calculations do i need to do in order to find my wattage?

    Sine wave into wattage

So my question is about calculating wattage with a sine wave. So with speakers I always just thought of it as the basic vi=w So a sine wave of 12v through 4 ohms will produce three amps and thus 36watts. But when you put a square wave and use pulse width modulation on something like an led or...

    Mosfet amplifier upgrade

Thats ingenious! I feel bad for not realizing myself lol. So unning a 36v supply, by the time i start clipping it should be no more than maybe 32v, but lets jave headroom here.... 36v into 2 ohms plus the .2 from the resistors is 16.36 amps, now divide that by two because i am adding in...

    Mosfet amplifier upgrade

Ok i have discovered that the op amps are running off of a split supply composed of half transfomer output, so on a +-24 v system the preamp chips are getting +- 12 and they can only go to 18. So i am switching out those with the lm883 which can get to 30v. Also their coupling cap is only 16v so...

    Mosfet amplifier upgrade

Dont worry :) i got that covered! I am hand assembling longer and taller heatsinks in order to overcome the extra heat, plus every component will be mounted to the chassy which has fins, and i am adding in 2 3cm fans, and in my experience even small fans like that can make a crazy difference...

    Mosfet amplifier upgrade

I know it may be a general question and i understand that to increase voltage i can simply bridge but my objective is to increase the power transformer to a 36v output, and add parralel/higher current mosfets to allow for 2ohm stability with an increased voltage output, thus turning a 200 watt...

    Mosfet amplifier upgrade

I have an old mosfet amplifier which I plan to upgrade, I have never done this before but I am very experienced in electronics and have built many amplifiers before, just not mosfet amps. I am not 100% sure how the n and p channel mosfets are biased or set up but one upgrade I want to do with...

    Current fraction of a sinewave

So PWM can simulate a decrease in voltage when useing a stable amplitude. 10v50% duty cycle is 1/2 the amplitude meaning 5v. And if this is through a standard resistor then you will see 1/2 the current. But what about a sine wave? What fraction or percentage does this come out to be? What...
