Here is the story from yesterday about the convy: http://www.cnn.com/2010/WORLD/meast/05/30/gaza.protest/index.html So in other words this was more of a publicity to try to provoke Isreal (success).

    News Virginia Speed Limits

In my state, the speed limit is also 65, but it would be reckless driving to go below 75 due to everyone else going 80+. I think are speeding tickets are about a third of yours though.

A high schooler looking for some complicated physics problems

For Classical Mechanics, I would look at Morin's book: https://www.amazon.com/dp/0521876222/?tag=pfamazon01-20&tag=pfamazon01-20

Courses Why are there so few General Relativity courses?

At my school, there is a two quarter GR series offered by the math department. I just happened to stubble upon it the other day. It seems to only be offered every few years.

    I Just Failed

I would talk to your professor. Some professors will give you a few options (ex if you show a significant improvement on the final, ill drop your midterm grade) and some professors will wave you off. Either way it doesn't hurt to talk. Also, you should determine why you got such a low score...

Programs BS/MS at one school PhD at another?

Hello all, I am thinking about purusing the BS/MS option in nuclear engineering at my university. However, the NE department at my school is small and I am not exactly sure if my research interests really line up with any of the professors here. I am not sure yet if I do want to pursue a...

I saw it last night, and over all I was a little dissapointed. Part of it could have been that I saw it at midnight and didn't realise that it was a 3 hour movie.

Topics in your first physics year.

I did not take physics in high school. In high school, I thought I wanted to be a doctor, so I took every bio course my school offered and opted out of physics. Not exactly sure if I regret it. The first quarter of physics in college was brutal, but I rebounded fairly well after that.

Already an Engineer : quitting for school, need help

Is there any particular reason you have choosen this CC? I would shop around a bit and see if you can do better. Perhaps also look at smaller branches of a large university. Often times the tuition will be lower than the main campus (but not always!). Also see if the university you are...

    Courses Unrealistic Course Load?

It doesn't look like a terrible schedule, however all of those courses may end up taking A LOT of time. As long as you are able to manage your time well, I think it is very doable. I like to study a lot during the weekdays and do very minimal school work on the weekends. How long do you...

    I'm screwed I think

Depending on the volume of the pharmacy, he could have studied there. I work at retail chain pharmacy that locally does not do very many scripts/week. The upside is that I have a lot of study time (although usually not of great quality). Downside is that my hours fluctuate a lot (currently at 20...

    How's this for a syllabus.

What is the breakdown for the remaining 50%? 50% homework does look great, however it means it will probably be a low curve class and impossible midterms and finals to compensate.

    MechE to math or physics

Just a quick question, why are you majoring in ME if you plan to pursue physics and/or math? What is the required physics for ME at you school? At mine, only the first year physics sequence is required for ME majors.

    Where to start?

Do you know what type of math you will be doing? I think I was doing Geometry in 9th grade, but it could have also been Algebra I or II. Regardless, I would definately focus on getting the most out of your math class. A decent foundation in math will make your life much happier now and later...

To transfer or not to transfer?

The UW school system *may* accept credits from each of thier branches (meaning that all credits would transfer). It may depend on that school system, but it works that way where I go. I would take this year to get a feel for the classes and opportunities at UW-Whitewater. It could be that...

To transfer or not to transfer?

In my opinion (not that it is worth much  ) it would be only be worth it if a) your school doesn't have much research opportunities or b) if your school doesn't have any content on the subfield(s) you are interested in (ex. astrophysics). What year are you? most colleges have a...
