Thanks for agreeing with me, and I DID say there was a Athlon 64 3700, there is not a 3700 sempron out now, but in the near future there will be.
that was a typo, it was supposed to say.
there is a A64 3700, and a XP called a sempron.
sorry for the typo.
the P3s were only faster than the...
AMD A64s are a 64-bit processor.
and the fastest CPU out now is a Pentium-M dothan.

the 3200 is 1.8GHz for the 939 socket and 2GHz for the 754 sockets, the 1.8GHz socket 939 is faster however.
there is no XP 3700, there...
AMD model numbers generally compare PR(performance rating)
AMD 3200XP or 3200a64 will compete with a 3.2GHz P4 generally, but the 3200 run at 2.2GHz and 1.8 or 2.0 for the a64.
Intel uses raw frequency, and AMD has incorporated instructions to make less speed just as efficient.
I use a P4...
ROFL, I know everything about mem requirments, I run cad all the time.
I am saying, that 1024MB is the perfect amount for now.
My previous was 512MB ddr266(pc2100)2-3-6-6-i, now I use 1024MB ddr333(pc2700)2-2-6-6-16
yeah, the IDE raid is very uncommon and that mistake is extremely common, but I knew, becuase I baught a Gigabyte mobo a long time ago, that had 4X IDE channels for RAID 0 and 1 setups, and there weren't many compatible HDDs for it back then, it used ATA-133 UDMA6 HDs only.
really?
I could swear I owned a Gigabyte mobo with IDE raid channels?
this is not my mobo, but it is a IDE raid mobo

maybe http://www.aberdeeninc.com/abcatg/mb6601.htm [Broken] could help with your research?
that sounds like you are going to have a happy happy processor.
I may also look into one of thos pelts.
you will need an extra PSU or a bigger PSU to operate that pelt.
I dont think your going to have good luck with that if it doesn't dissapate more heat than the backside of that pelt dissapates, you might want to check it out.
simple, data is broken down into 1s and 0s, the data is compiled by the cpu/motherboard/ram combo, and then stored on the HDD as the compiled file, and vise versa
you guys need to go back to overclocking school, a compressor will give you up to -52c, and nitrogen will give you -196, cost comparitivly and what can happen, the compressor is the way to go, and a 2.4 with good stepping can do 4GHz on a good compressor.
I prefer water cooling myself, and have...
Three advantages to building a rig yourself
#1, bragging rights, so you dont have to say "I got a dell etc"
you could say I built my PC, and it is nice.
#2, Looks hella better.
