y'=1=[2/root(x+2)]
Then I plugged it into the original and got both sides to equal.
BUT
I still have no idea what the original question is actually asking me to do in each part?
Just started Engineering Math III and have a question. Sorry about the notation, our library computers have scripts disabled.
My math prof does a poor job of explaining the concepts. Help me out!
Homework Statement
Verify the indicated function y=phi(x) is an explicit solution of the...
Yeah I did draw a diagram, I just don't have a scanner to upload it.
I never thought to look at it as two triangles though.
So what I actually should have is:
Shipx=15.4sin57 = 12.9i
Shipy=15.4cos57 = -8.39j
Planex=19.4sin30 = 9.7i km
Planey=19.4cos30 = -16.8j km
Planez=2.06k km
Therefore...
Homework Statement
A coastguard station locates a ship at range 15.4 km and bearing 123° clockwise from north.
From the same station a plane is at horizontal range 19.4 km, 150° clockwise from north, with elevation 2.06 km.
What is the vector displacement from plane to ship, let i represent...
Righto I missed that one, so the next lines should be:
2016 = x^3 + 25x^2 + 150x + 500
0 = x^3 + 25x^2 + 150x -1516
Then I would just use factor theorem to solve for x, does that work out in this case?
Alright, thanks for the help :)
Typo on the first one, let me try again ;)
Problem One
1008 = [(10+x)(10+x)(5+x)] / 2
Solution Attempt
504=[(10+x)(10+x)(5+x)]
504= (100+10x+10x+x^2)(5+x)
504= 500 + 50x + 5x^2 + 100x + 20x^2 + x^3
504 = x^3 + 25x^2 + 150x + 500
0 = x^3 +...
Thanks again Tedjn.
I totally forgot about the https://www.physicsforums.com/latex_images/17/1740837-11.png [Broken]
My test is in about half an hour, i'm just reviewing my stuff now.
Thanks everyone for your help. Especially Tedjn for all that typing!
I'm still completely lost on 12b,12c and 14. What you typed doesn't even makes sense to me :confused:
Anyways, at least i'm better off then I was before I posted here, even if I couldn't figure everything out. I attribute it...
Hey guys, I know i've left it kind of late, but I have a calc. unit test tomorrow at 10AM. I was doing the assigned review, and some extra questions of top of it, and these ones are still giving me trouble.
Any help at all you could offer would be greatly appreciated, as I have to pull my...
Thanks guys for the help. I ended up having something similar to 1 on my test today. Number 4 was identical actually!
I nailed 1. 100%.
Number 4 i'm not so sure about. I drew a FBD, but got confused because the angle of 28 degrees was 4m out from the center of the platform. I calculated a new...
My midterm is tomorrow guys. If you can't, or dont' want to solve the questions even after i've attempted them to the best of my ability, then can you offer any tips to completing them?
Thanks for the welcome!
I'm not really sure where to start at all on these ones, but i'll give it a shot:
1. I know i have to get the horizontal component of acceleration, and I think I have to use \sumFr=ma but I don't know how?
2. I'm completely confused on this one as I wasn't given...
I've been doing alot of extra questions for physics lately, but I just can't wrap my head around these questions. I've attempted a alot of others, but these just seem different for some reason? Please help me solve them, including Free Body Diagrams if possible.
1. If a curve with a radius of...
