I Adding more meteorites to my collection

Hey @davenn, you really have an intriguing hobby! As many others have said earlier, I imagine it would be really amazing to hold something from space right in your hands! But I am wondering, how do you differentiate, how do you know that the rock you find or buy is really a meteorite? I have...

    Really worried about Ukraine

This all just shows how history tends to repeat itself. Lessons, as much as mistakes, are forgotten in just 2 generations, 80 years, and all the vices and evils come flooding back. Russians says that it is time to remind the West and Europe of what happens when red lines are crossed and refresh...

What is the most popular social media? Poll

Well, well. Very interesting and valuable results in the poll. I was hoping for quite a few votes, very good results. Challenge Basic Math Challenge - August 2018

You are correct and I share your opinion. However, I believe that it would be the interest of the younger students to challenge themselves mathematically and develop themselves. Even if other people solve them first, students can still discuss the question, solution, answer and always have a go...

@fresh_42 @Greg Bernhardt . I (for my young age) find that these problems are very alien, difficult to me, as I am only in year 8 :) . Finding height and area of trapezoid from its legs and bases

The area changes, the length of the AB and CD changes, the length of the legs does not change, the height does not change, all the angles do not change. Yes, I thought about it for a long time, and drew a sketch.

Finding height and area of trapezoid from its legs and bases

Hello. I am wondering how I can find the area of a trapezoid from its two legs and bases. My problem: ABCD is a trapezium with AB parallel to CD such that AB = 5, BC = 3, CD = 10 and AD = 4. What is the area of ABCD? If we trace a straight line from A down parallel to the height of the...

We could use chess, but it might not be practical for all the reasons mentioned. It is just like this photo from Wikipedia with a world-class boxer losing in chess against Vladimir Kramnik (World No 3, currently). It would be fair to have a boxing round next! That's why I asked for...

Do animals have life goals or wishes?

I like to think of it in terms of achieving something not for the need to survive (like gathering food with animals to live one more day and escape from predators), but, on the other hand in terms of a want not a need. Like I don't have to win the Nobel Prize in order to get money to buy a loaf...

Psychology: How will we react to discovery of alien life

We need to get ready for the encounters, in my opinion. If we encounter ET (like us) tomorrow, then we will most likely go mad. War will break out, instability could destroy us and all the scientists will go mad.
