Did those scientists find any evidence of any sexual behaviour between them?
As it is said, since they are in captivity, they could just be shring their grief. Homosexuality is not a natural behavior between animals at all.

Can you put like , first case is true if f(x) is even and if such and such...
I shall study your answer. But from my first reading I need more.
I need a condition to apply to f(x) so I can use each of the above properties.
hhegab
Peace!
I want to know the conditions that must be satisfied by a function
f(x) for any of the following two cases to be true (each case independent from the other);
1- \int^a_{-a} f(x) dx = 2 \int^a_0 f(x) dx
2- \int^a_0 f(x) dx = \int^0_a f(x) dx
They gave me confusion when...

I wanted to find the elecric field of the rod to the left and then find the force element acting on the right rod.
I got;
E=\frac{k_eQ}{d(2a+d)}
now,
dF=E\ldot dx
then what shoudl I use for integration limit?

Thank you all,
the number 42; I am not sure I owe anything but my good company :)
I really missed this place. I feel I am living again when I came back...life is boring, but some can make it a nice experience...enjoy it here!
hhegab
Peace!
I have a problem when attaching pics to my messages. I can't know about the pixel size of my attached file. How can I know it? And how can I reduce it if it is larger than the limit?
hhegab
PS.
I am not sure if this is the correct place of my post, so please forgive me if it is...
Peace!
The problem is that I can't grasp the answer!
I have tried with the integration but I use different limits for integration. I shall post the answer if you want to.
hhegab
Peace!
I am supposed to find the electric force acting on the right rod due to the rod on the left. each is of length 2a and b > 2a. Each rod carries a charge +Q. I have difficulty in finding the integration, especially its limits.
hhegab
Peace!
I did the problem twice and I had the same answer as that of A M.
Either you gave us a wrong input somewhere, or that the answer you have is not accurate...Please check the problem and the inputs in it.
I have aslo tried to solve it assuming that a charge Q was divided equally...
Peace!
The field lines are perpendicular to the surface, and directed either inward or outward according to the sign of sigma, when they added (vectirially) they will give a zero field.
Also, even in the presence of a field inside the conductor, when we put it an an external elecric field...
Peace,
In Serway's Physics for S&E ,6th edition, chapter 24 section 4 (conducing surfaces), when using Gauss' Law
\oint{\vec{E} \cdot d\vec{A}} = \frac{Q_{enc}}{\epsilon_0}
is used, we have A as the TOTAL surface area not a surface of a particular region on the material under study...
Hi,
I have been a memeber of this forum for sometime and I was not that acive , :zzz: forgive me. I had lots of work and studies to do.
I am back with many questions and hope to be as active as I should be :!)
I am happy to see myself here again :biggrin:
You can for sure try Schaum's book "Theoretical Mechaincs" this is a very good book and full with problems that will clarify things to u. give it a try.
hhegab
best thing is to re-read the courses you had studied before in ur undergrad. and try to solve the 3 exams released from ETS.
you can share me ur opinions.
as for links,
www.grephysics.com is a nice link

I am currently preparing to take the test, I use Halliday and Resnick and also Serway for preparation. I have some schaums books to to review things from it.
I am to take it next nov.

PS.
Pple here who have gone through this experience should help us in this please
Solved!
There's a sideways force (Coriolis force) acting on anything moving
towards or away from the axis of rotation in a rotating frame such as
the earth. The Coriolis force per unit mass (acceleration) is:
F1 = 2 Omega x V
where V is the velocity in the rotating frame. The magnitude...
A string has two parts: one with a very high mass density (per unit length), and the other with a very low mass density. A wave with amplitude A moves from the dense part toward the light part. What will be the amplitude of the wave which is transmitted to the light part?

Hi,
I have been trying to solve the following differential equations I was stuck with them. I will appreciate any help from you;
1- 3 y' +3x/y =2(xy)^4
I have tried Bernoulli but I could not get a standard form.
2- x' -2 x y = y exp (-3y^2)[x exp(-y^2)+ 3(x exp(-y^2))^2]
I have tried here...
Hi all,
I have the following problem which I have tried to solve for a very long time, very very long time indeed- 2 or more years. I am studying here all by myself and I got no one to help me.
I shall not participate in any talk. I have had enough with it.
this problem is in the Schaum's...
Hi,
thank you for the reply.
I use mathematica with a package called FeynArts. But I have a font problem that I could not solve for more than 3 months now. I thought sombody here could help me.
So, did you have the sae font problem while installing it? and what did you do?
Thank you for the...
Hi all,
My question is, Does anyone here have a mathematica 4.0 or 4.1 on a linux box? (RedHat of Mandrake?)
I am facing a font problem and I thought I might have solutione here.

Linux
Hi all,
Well, if you want security, then it is linux that you should use.
If you want stability, then try linux,
and if you want everything, Again, it is linux.

Dear Tom,
This problem appears in my book! I have struggled with it for 2 months (and I shouldn't have done).
Well, I guess I will stop now.
PS.
It is said that it has an integration factor ! I have done my best to find it, but it was not there.

Hi,
I have the following ODE, which I could not solve,
(7x^3+3x^2y+4y)dx+(4x^3+x+5y)dy=0.
I have tried to use the integration factor technique, but I could not find one.
It can be put in the form:
M dx +N dy=0, where M=7x^3+3x^2y+4y, and N=4x^3+x+5y.
Can you help me? And How can it be done...

I am waiting!
Hi all,
Well, I have waited for a month now and I had no post about this GRE Test.
Well, as I am sure that I will find help from ppl here in this forum I have the following questions:
1-How may I prepare for the GRE physics? and
2-What books should I read? and
3-Are there...
Well, I have this question now in my mind, which is better in your opinion:
Fundamentals of Physics, by Halliday and Resnick, or
Physics for Scientists and Engineers, by Raymond Serway?
hhegab
Well, as I said I have the book and I do study it all by myself. But sometmes I face challenging problems (who doesn't) and I was told that I can find a solution manual on the web, html or pdf. that is what I am asking for. SO can anyone help?
hhegab
Hi
Well, I am doing all the study of physics here by myself. I have The fundamentals of physics book, but all I need is the solutions to its problems. I have tried to search for such solutions but I could not find any, do you think you can help me in finding some of the solutions?
hhegab
hi, how are you all?
I am new to this forum, and I can't tell you how much delighted I am to be here with you. I can't express my joy and happiness to see this forum. I loved it since the time I saw it- even before reading anything.
Thank you veru much for making my dream come true, to see a...
