hey guys, having trouble with this one:
y=x + 4/(x-1)
i have found 1st and 2nd derivatives.
Minimum turing point at (1/2, 15/4) and there are no points of inflexion. there is an asympote at x=1...right.
This line is more than just that though isn't it? how can u tell that you got...
" the height "h" meters of a cricket ball after being struck by a batsman is given by the equation h=1+x-(x^2/40) where x meters is the horisontal distance traveled by the ball from the bat. how far would the ball travel before it hits the ground?"
I have:
using pythagoras...
Hi,
i'm stuck with this question, I'm prob missing something easy.
the "c" above middle c on the piano has a frequency of 512 Hz. calculate the wavelength.
Thanks for your help
ummm nar...
this is what i can get to...
{(3x+3)(2x-2)/(2x+3)(3x+2)} + {(3x+2)(x-2)/(3x-2)(x-2)}
and the answer is...
{2(9x^2+4)}/(3x-2)(3x+2)
i just don't know how to get there haha
hey,
I am having trouble with the following...
(6x^2+5x-6)/(6x^2+13x+6) TIMES (3x^2-4x-4)/(3x^2-8x+4)
i can factorise them but i don't know what to do after that...
Thanks for your help
Letters to Numbers?
Hey, I have no idea how to do this...
Replace all the letters with the respective digits in such a way that the calculation is correct
SEND+MORE=MONEY
the answer is 9567+1085=10652, but i don't know how to get there.
Thanks for your help
Hey everone...
I'm in year 10 and my problem solving skills have been perished in the time that i haven't been doing much of it.
Can you guys recommend any books to things that i could do to get my skills back but to par?
Thanks for your time
g'day everyone...
i was wondering the significance of Mr Gann's square of nine, and how he could just find this "magical" thing and then apply it to the markets...
Also, what is the mathematics behind it? I've looked it up on google but it doesn't have anything about either of these...
I'm in year 10 at the moment, but i was wondering where the best place to start was if i wanted to do some extra work on functions and other maths...
Thanks
he says stuff like, "with this mathematics, things that we never though possible to predict now can be. e.g. cloud formations" also, he is trying to predict "sentiment" in a way.
"all the current methods of prediction do the same thing, try to predict what one person is going to do, but...
sorry, this might seem like a stupid question for all you, but I'm only in year 10.
When you this symbol \rightarrow in the middle of an equation, what does it mean?
Thanks
hmm
well excuse my language but this actually is a correct term for traders. a "big swinging dick" is a person who is famous for their trading, and are so closley watched, every thing they do is copied and therefore has an effect on the market. the main forces on the market are supply and...
in the movie "the bank" a mathematical genius predicts the exact movements of the sharemarket after years of research and attempts. he uses Fractal geometry, chaos theory, non-linear dynamics and of special interest to him was the work of mandelbrot and his work regarding fractals.
He...
our universe?
could our universe be in a black hole?
Could the "Big Bang" have occurred from the possible "singularity" inside a black hole.
Also, i know that light can't get out, but can light get in?
I was reading some stuff about the big bang and about the singularity. When the big bang happens, is a whole lot of matter just created?
And,
Are Photons counted as matter?
Thanks
Is it possible to predict the Markets using Chaos Theory? (or predict anything) If you have seen the aussie movie "the bank" you willl know that's what he does
Thanks
