    Physics or chemistry for career?

Hmm, how about your liking towards Math? Personally ... you'd require quite a lot of Math for pursuing Physics. Chemistry does require it too, but lesser compared to Physics. Also, at the undergrad level atleast I think you would be able to do more "cooler" stuff/ experiments in Chemistry labs...

Area of a Parallel Plate capacitor. Pi*r^2?

Hi, I was just going through a question in my Physics textbook today. In calculating the electric field (E=sigma/epsilon0) ... sigma = charge density = q/Area ... they have used the area as pi*r^2, I can't understand why this was done? shouldn't the area of the parallel plate capacitor be...

Hi Arildno, Well, since I'm still in High School I don't have exposure to experienced people nor does the school have much of any equipments. The only working things in my physics lab are some voltmeters, ammeters, battery eliminators, light microscope, a few mirrors and lenses. So as of...

    Extra-curricular Help

Hello guys, I am a 17 year old boy. Science has been a very interesting subject for me …. maybe not theoretical chemistry ;) I believe the school curriculum restricts us on the beauty of science. There is more of theoretical work involved and we are left clueless at times as to how this...
