Engineering Half-power cut-off frequency and frequency and phase response.

Sorry for my very late reply, especially as I was looking for help. The method I used was: 0.35/tr with when tr is 90-10 of the final value. Thanks every one for the help provided and once again I apologise for the late reply.

Engineering Half-power cut-off frequency and frequency and phase response.

I have been given the attached following question: FIGURE 2 shows the response of a first-order filter to a step input. Estimate the half-power cut-off frequency of the filter and sketch its frequency and phase response. I believe that I have correctly calculated the half-power cut-off...

Engineering Help with Bode plot simulation using Simetrix

It’s been a while (sick family member and so on..) but I’ve finally found some time to give this another go. I recreated both circuits and inserted a bode plot, to the left of C3 to gain the following graphs. I’m not 100% certain that I have all the settings for the simulation set correctly or...

Engineering Help with Bode plot simulation using Simetrix

Yeah I thought that 65kHz was abit off as I calculated the single stage phase angle as 68 degrees each for the RC ladder network, when I was hoping for something along the lines of 60 degrees. Thanks for the pointers, I am going to make an attempt tomorrow.

Engineering Help with Bode plot simulation using Simetrix

Thanks for the reply! I’ve calculated the frequency of oscillation of about 65kHz. I was hoping to graph both an ideal op-amp and a TH072 op-amp and compare them. Another issue I’m having is with the unwanted capacitances within the TL072 and how to determine the value of them. Unfortunately...

    Engineering Opamp output offset help

I’ve been given the attached question and equation in regard to output offset. I know all the required values apart from Rf. Normally id assume Rf was the feedback resistor however that (as far as I can tell from the circuit) is marked as R2. Would I be right if I assumed this value was Rf =...

Inverting Op-amp signals and Sawtooth waveform generation

I was wondering how you came up with the gain values for each channel. But it seems I over looked the equation as mentioned by bob012345. Cheers guys.

Inverting Op-amp signals and Sawtooth waveform generation

How did you come up with the coefficients of 10,20,30,40 and RF of 3.5? I’ve arbitrarily used 10kohms for my RF with coefficients of 10kΩ, 13.3kΩ, 20kΩ and 40kΩ which should give me gains of 1.25, 2.5, 3.75 and 5. I was hoping as there are 4 inputs at 5volts each that 5/4=1.25 and multiples...

Inverting Op-amp signals and Sawtooth waveform generation

I did that in an earlier attempt at the question, I can't remember why now but I decided to ty a different method. Might have to reconsider going back to it.

Inverting Op-amp signals and Sawtooth waveform generation

There is a lot of information here and its a massive help. Electronics isn't something I do that much of at home or at work so it does not come that natural to me. Thank you guys.

Inverting Op-amp signals and Sawtooth waveform generation

Yeah i think I am on the right track with it, so I am quite relieved someone else thinks I am some where near. Cheers.

Inverting Op-amp signals and Sawtooth waveform generation

I’ve been asked to create a sawtooth wave form with four input voltages. After doing this I then added a second op-amp to both change the range of the wave form from -/+5v to -/+2.5 and DC offset of 2.5v to create a wave form that ranges from 0v – 5v as required by the question. For the most...

Quiescent output of a JFET amplifier

Homework Statement I am to construct a JFET amplifier with Pspice (SIMetrix) to determine the quiescent output and to compare it with my own calculations. However my calculations don’t match the simulated output by quite a margin. Can anyone point me in the right direction as I’ve had very...

    Percentage second harmonic distortion calculation?

A voltage amplifier ideally should have the input-output relationship of V₀ = 100vi but in practice the relationship is V₀ = Vi (98 + 2Vi). Calculate the %age second harmonic distortion presents in the amplifiers output for a sinusoidal input of 10mV r.m.s. Hi everyone! Can anyone please...
