Going 'Round In Circles

This week, your photos must be on things that goes 'round and 'round in circles.

Zz.

Contest Rules:

1. Any digital photo or digitally-scanned photo relevant to the theme will be accepted within the contest period. In case there's a gray area, or you're not sure if the picture is suitable, check with me first.

2. Please resize your digital photo to no more than 650 x 490 or 490 x 650 pixels. You may also crop your picture if you wish. You are also allowed to adjust the brightness and contrast of your picture but these should not dramatically alter the look of the picture. But other than those, any form of picture editing or modification is not allowed. This is a photo contest, not a picture editing/special effect contest. You may add a watermark or your name/nickname to the photo for identification purposes.

3. Upload your photos to any of the photo servers such as imageshack or photobucket. Then post it the relevant contest thread and link your picture using the img command. PM me if you do not know how.

4. Only ONE picture per member per contest. Once a picture is posted, it cannot be changed other than a total withdrawl by that member from that week's photo contest. Exceptions will be made for modification to comply with the rules, such as resizing.

5. At the end of the contest period, I will open a poll and every PF member can vote for the picture they like best.

6. Note that in case we have a large number of entries, I will do the polling in more than one thread. If that's the case, you can vote in each of the polling threads. The photos will be assigned in the polling threads in the order they were submitted.

7. These pictures must be something that you took, not something taken off someone else's photo albums or taken by someone else. I have no way of checking if you did this, so we'll go by the honor system.

8. You can use a picture only once. Once it is used in a contest, it cannot be reused in another contest.

9. Please post only pictures meant for submission in this thread.

Hmm...how does one photograph conversations with university administrators? :uhh:

This sounds like a fun contest. I'm waiting to see how people interpret this one and what they find!

Should be easy for Lisa B, with the turning circle near her place and all...

That was my first thought too, binzing - a bit of PF telepathy! Unfortunately it's been a rainy day here...after all, I live in the Pacific Northwest...you know how it is here... !

My brain was going around and around recently when I had to go to a birthday party at Chucky Cheese. I couldn't get a picture of it though.

I did get a picture of Mr Cheese.

Sorry  - Pacific Northwest is such a common term in my little corner of the world! I should clarify - Pacific Northwest of the US!

And no, I haven't heard the terms Atlantic Northeast, Atlantic Southeast, or Pacific Southwest to describe those regions of the US. But of course you will hear Northeast, Southeast, and Southwest...just not with the ocean names.

That was obvious, it is just sometimes funny when you look closely at illogicality of such terms and names. I am looking from the outside so I can see them, to some extent like a 3 years old kid that just learns to speak

That's what the performers got the audience to do during this part of the show. This was the Hoop Dee Doo Revue at Disney's Wilderness Resort and Campgrounds. Audience participation was definitely part of the show.

After a 2 day debate, I half to ask for my submission to be removed. I really can not say for certain, if I took the photo, or if my Husband did{ he says he remembers taking it}.

Done. Thanks for the notice, hypatia. Wish it could have stayed. It was a good picture.

Zz, Photobucket is not only up almost all the time, they seem to be offering all kinds of flexibility to users. I dumped Image Shack a couple of years ago and never looked back.

I have used Photobucket and have an account on it for the past 2 years. I use both of them.

I started with Image Shack, and things were just OK. Then I started loading stuff on Photo Bucket and comparing. I'm a bit (OK, maybe a lot) geeky regarding load-times, server up-time etc, and after comparing, I went with PB. I still have a stale IS account active, but I don't use it. My nieces and nephews (and young brother) have been producing babies pretty regularly, so it's nice to be able to email some dependable image links to them (I take a LOT of shots when they visit with the kids).

A few years ago I was out in my back yard and noticed this star nearby. Couldn't have been much more than 1 a.u. away, so I snapped a few quick shots while I had the chance.

Thanks. What really made me think he had taken it was the disembodied feet on the top of the photo. I have a whole collection of photos he took, with varies body parts showing.

I think my favorite contests are the ones like this one where everyone gets a bit more creative in interpreting the rules.
