200 series aluminum for structural purposes??

    Hi Folks,

I am sourcing HEX spacers for a strcutural PCB tower. The only alumium spacers I can find that fit the heights I am looking for, are made from 200-T3 aluminum.

Previously I went by the rule that aluminum could only be used for structural purposes if you use anything above 500 series. However, someone mentioned in passing that this is not true and the 200 series can be used.

Can anyone shed some light on the topic?

    Thanks,

    Steven
