In summary, the conversation revolved around a user experiencing an error message while running a simulation on Ansoft Maxwell for a tubular machine in 3D. They were unsure how to resolve the issue and asked for help, with another user suggesting to avoid using cylindrical or spherical bands and to make sure the band does not intersect any objects. They also suggested matching the meshing of the band with the objects inside of it.

Hello all,

I am anew user for Ansoft Maxwell, I am doing simulation for tubular machine in 3D, I have problem with band assignment, when I run the analysis there is a massage error after the mesh, which said

[error] Error in mesh mapping on band, please check the potential problem in band setting.

I do not know how to sort this problem out. Could you please help me ? Thank you in advance

Did you manage to find a solution to your problem? I'm having the same error right now

Try not to use cylindrical or spherical band, better use a box or a polyhedron. If you have a rotational motion setup for the band, try to select "Non-Cylindrical". Try to make sure that the band does not intersect anything. Maybe also try to make the meshing of the band exactly the same as the meshing of the objects inside of it.

What is a 3D assign band translater?

A 3D assign band translater is a specialized tool used in the field of structural biology to assign spectral peaks in nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectra to specific amino acid residues in a protein's structure.

How does a 3D assign band translater work?

A 3D assign band translater uses a combination of computational algorithms and experimental data to match spectral peaks with specific amino acid residues in a protein's structure. This is done by comparing the chemical shifts of the peaks in the NMR spectra with known chemical shifts of amino acids in a database.

What are the benefits of using a 3D assign band translater?

Using a 3D assign band translater allows for more accurate and efficient assignment of NMR spectra, saving time and reducing potential errors compared to manual assignment methods. It also allows for the detection of subtle structural changes in proteins that may be missed by other techniques.

Are there any limitations to using a 3D assign band translater?

While a 3D assign band translater can greatly aid in the assignment process, it is not infallible and may still require manual adjustments. Additionally, it may not be suitable for highly complex protein structures or when there is limited experimental data available.

Is a 3D assign band translater used in other areas of research?

While primarily used in structural biology, 3D assign band translater technology has also been applied in other fields such as drug discovery and biomarker identification. Its ability to accurately and efficiently analyze complex data makes it a valuable tool in various research areas.
