4 point bending

  1. Jun 25, 2014 #1
I am performing an experiment for my project. I have bended an aluminum beam of 1in by 1/4 in by 14 in (Al 6061 T6). I deflected the beam upto 0.09 in at the middle.
I need to find Sigma x, sigma Y and Shear stress on the expanded and compressed face of the beam which is 1 in by 1/4 in.
Can anybody tell me how to find those stresses?

More details about your experimental set up are required, specifically the location of the point loadings applied to the test beam.
